About Us
A Long Line of Sharpening…
M & M Sharpening began as a project to obtain an Entrepreneurship merit badge for Patrick’s scout troop. We had talked about starting a sharpening business for years, and decided to make our dream become reality. We wrote a business plan, spent many hours perfecting our techniques, and bought the necessary tools. With an extensive background in professional tree cutting, Chainsaw chains are our specialty.
Meet the Team
Patrick
Patrick is a craftsman who has grown up as a sharpener. He has sharpened knives for his fellow scouts for years, and has become a very knowledgeable sharpsmith.
Mark
Mark has over 30 years of sharpening experience as a hobbyist and professional. He learned his craft from his grandfather, who’s favorite line was, “A dull knife is a stick!” He has spent time as a blacksmith, farrier, and metal smith (including repairing brass instruments) as well as a sharpener. Mark KNOWS metal.
William
William is an experienced SharpSmith, learning the art from an early age. He started by learning to sharpen lawn mower blades, then gained experience by adding knives and garden tools to his skill set. He is our main food service representative, doing pickup and deliveries every day at local restaurants. As an Eagle Scout, he is still involved in Scouting, as a member and leader of Venturing Crew 223.
